Weekly Challenge

Good morning and welcome to our Weekly Challenge.  Today we are sharing with you the beautiful Tim Holtz clock.  This item is terrific.  There are absolutely no internal parts!  This means that you've plenty of room to decorate and embellish.

Here's what the clock looks like with the back removed.

We used alcohol inks to paint them.  They turned out beautiful.  While color was added, the shininess of the metal came through.  Bea painted hers teal.

Suzanne painted hers magenta.

Tara painted hers pink.

Michele painted hers teal and Linda painted hers brown/copper

Here's Linda's clock already painted and embellished in the inside. She was planning on decorating the outside later on.

This is Bea's finished clock inside and out.  She went all out with her embellishments.  Tammy liked it so much she is keeping it at her Shabby Chic area of the store.

Here's another version decorated with the Graphic 45 Father Time collection and Christmas embellishments. This clock was painted burgundy.

The Tim Holtz clock, the alcohol inks and all of the embellishments are available at The Paper Niche.  Be sure to stop by and pick up yours today.  It's a lot of fun to make, and it will look good up on your shelf.

Be sure to come back to the blog tomorrow for the Tip of the Week video.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Inspiration Monday

Good morning! Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.  Once in a while, we like to feature the work of our customers.  They are our inspiration as they spend many weekends with us creating fabulous scrapbook pages.

Tara is one of them. She is an amazing designer with a fantastic eye for space and detail. She is not afraid to scrapbook the boys in her life and add flowers to the page.

Thank you Tara for spending time with us and for sharing your talent.

Please return to this blog tomorrow for our new Kit of the Week.  In the meantime, have a wonderful and blessed day!

A Sketch and a Layout

Happy Friday!  We have a brand new sketch for you today designed by Susan Stringfellow.  She is one of our favorite sketch designers.  Her lines are very clean and her sketches turn out beautiful every single time.

This is my take of the sketch.  I made it into a two-page layout and carried the same design throughout both pages.

If you are scrapping this weekend, try it out!  Sketches are fun and very inspiring.  Have a wonderful weekend, be safe and be blessed!

Tip of the Week - Corner Pop Cards

Welcome to the Tip of the Week.  This week Steve shows us how to make the "corner pop" card, as he likes to call it.  This pop-up actually pops more than the previous versions he's shown us.

Weekly Challenge: Banner

Good morning and welcome to our Weekly Challenge: a banner made out of canvas and burlap.

Burlap banner from Canvas Corp.

Canvas banner by Maya Road

First I painted the canvas banner with Tattered Angels spray.

Then I layered it with the burlap banner and added trim to the edges of the canvas banner.

Then I started embellishing them using the new Prima flowers.

I used wooden letters which I painted to match the base of the banner. Finished embellishing it, strung it and voila!

You can see the details in these close up pictures.

It turned out so pretty!

This beautiful banner is available as a kit.  Just call the store to purchase it.  You can even visit us and make it right there at the store using the original one as a sample!

Come back tomorrow for a new Tip of the Week.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!
