Fabric Challenge

Congratulations to Andrea, she won our stamps challenge!

Are you up for a new challenge?
Visit our blog every Monday for a new challenge and a chance to win a fabulous prize.

This weeks challenge: Fabric
Using fabric and ribbon when creating your scrapbook or projects can really add to the texture and feel of them! I love adding touches of stitching and fabrics to lend a softer feel - not just to the touch, but it also can add the "Awww..." factor! There's something about the sweet touch of softly gathered fabric that brings comfort to mind. Or if you're going for a more edgey feel - I start ripping or leave some loose threads hanging from my stitching.
For this project, I started with the Prima refill pages for their 8x8 canvas album, and one of the swirly iron-ons made to fit. After apply the iron-on, I chose a photo to cut to fit, layered a couple of felt leaves and added a simple bloom created with a piece of ribbon. A few more touches, and I had a ready to hang decoration for our wall!

Please email all submissions to customerservice@paperniche.com -with CHALLENGE in the subject, or upload it to your blog with a link in here and leave a link to your layout in a comment on this post. Deadline for submissions is Friday, April 23.

My 50th Birthday and National Srapbook Weekend

Hi everyone ! I am so excited about my first blogging experience!!!!!
Just got off the phone with Marah Johnson and we changed the date of her classes to Friday, May 7 and Saturday May 8th, what a great Mother's day gift!!!I will have the samples by this Friday the latest, she will be using her new papers from her breathless collection and the new real wood papers. Lots of her Luminarte will be used!
I am going to try and be faithful to my Tuesday blog time. Before I share my BIG 50th Birthday with you I wanted to let you know how GREAT our National Scrapbook Weekend is going to be!Don is looking forward to grilling for the girls on Saturday night and I will be cooking my famous lasagna, caesar salad and garlic bread Friday night. Luci will be doing a fabulous make and take, pictured here:

We only have a few spots left, don't wait for the last minute.Don't forget we are having a sleepover Saturday night bring your sleeping bags, blowup beds and pillows I will supply the movie, popcorn and more.........

Now the Big 50th My partner Rhonda and all the girls surprised me with a cupcake tree. Isn't it Fun!!!

Then I was so blessed again on Sunday morning when I got home from Church.
Rhonda asked me if I could have anything for my birthday what would it be and I told her a rose garden and sure enough when Nikkie drove up to the house my front entrance way was lined up with 9 rose bushes and 2 rose trees with birthday wishes tied to each plant from my family and friends. Needless to say I was in tears. So my wonderful hubby and son planted me a rose garden.
